Where to Watch the Super Bowl in Manchester this Sunday

Including showings at Bunny Jacksons, GRUB, Hard Rock Café and more...

By Manchester's Finest | February 9th '22

My dad always used to say that American Football was rugby for softies and, going along with every fibre in my body, it’s rather easy to argue with him on it.

Sure, they wear an awful lot of padding and its sometimes hard for us Brits to follow, but the NFL and Super Bowl have been growing in popularity over the years, if only because it provides the perfect excuse to get hammered and eat loads of junk food on a Sunday night.

As you’d expect, there’s plenty of establishments in the city showing the game, which kicks off at 11:30pm and won’t be finished until the ungodly hour of 3am.

Oh and the half time entertainment will come courtesy of Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J Blige and Kendrick Lamar…

Bunny Jacksons & Junior Jacksons
Bunny’s never lets you down when it comes to NFL, and so the biggest night in the American Football calendar is ripe for some serious Jackson action. The party will kick off (yep) at 11:30pm and they’ll be serving wings til 1am. Junior Jacksons in the NQ will also be showing the game – just without the wings. No bookings – walk-ins ONLY.

Dive Bar & Grill
Never ones to let a sporting event pass them by, Dive Bar & Grill in the Northern Quarter will be continuing their tradition of hosting the Super Bowl all evening on Sunday – complete with a menu of mains, small dishes and buckets of fizzy lager. There’s even a limited edition ‘Super Bowl Platter’ which is perfect for sharing with your mates whilst watching the action unfold. Tickets start from £5 which you can get here:

Hard Rock Café
There’s not much out there more American than Hard Rock Cafe, except perhaps Uncle Sam, high on bath salts riding a bald eagle over the White House, firing an assault rifle into the air. As such, you can only expect Hard Rock in the Printworks to be showing the Super Bowl, one of the biggest dates in the US calendar. They’ve got a special ‘Tailgate’ Sharing Platter, plus the Salford Sirens cheerleaders in – kicking their legs about most likely.

The Brotherhood
For a sports bar that plays everything you could ever imagine, from boxing to rugby to the Winter Olympics, it will come as no surprise to hear that The Brotherhood are showing the Super Bowl this Sunday. Tables are pretty much all booked up at this point, but you can still walk in on the evening and find yourself a little spot to moor up and enjoy the show.

BOX
BOX on Deansgate will be staying open late this Super Bowl Sunday so that you can catch all the action as it unfolds, alongside cocktail steins and plenty of grub. Again, tables for it are fully booked at the moment, but there’s loads of space for walk-ins, and with 20 HD TVs spread over 2 floors, you’ll definitely be able to find yourself a space to watch it.

MOJO
MOJO have teamed up with Jack Daniels for their Super Bowl show this Sunday, with the party starting from 10pm and featuring a bunch of NFL special cocktails for you to try. It should certainly be a very different kind of evening for MOJO – I doubt anyone will get up on the tables and dance, unless, of course, it’s a particularly good game.
