NEWS FROM OXFAM IN DIDSBURY
Murder, mystery and poetry on World Book Day
Saturday 5 March

Oxfam in Didsbury will celebrate World Book Day by giving away almost 100 free books on Saturday 5 March.

Customers at the charity bookshop will have the opportunity to take home brand new copies of Carol Ann Duffy’s acclaimed poetry collection, The World’s Wife, and C.J. Sansom’s bestseller, Dissolution, a murder mystery novel set in Tudor times.

The free book giveaway will take place from 5 to 7 pm at a special late-night opening at the Wilmslow Road store on 5 March.

Didsbury Oxfam Manager, Wendy Elliott, said:  ‘We are really proud of our wonderful bookshop.  We have a fantastic range of reading material, from children’s and adult fiction to history, science and biography.  We also have an impressive collection of rare books and obscure titles.

‘On World Book Day I’d like to thank our hard-working volunteers and local people for their custom and their generous donations of books.  With their continued support our bookshop will just keep going from strength to strength!’

World Book Day, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, is marked in over 100 countries around the globe.
