Coveted brands and household name stars will take centre stage at Selfridges Exchange Square in September, when Manchester’s iconic city centre department store celebrates ten years of trading.

Events featuring Selfridges’ exclusive, world-famous brands will include an exclusive event on 27 September, when the store will be transformed for an exclusive fashion show and VIP dinner.

Over the past decade, the 126,000ft space has undergone huge investments including a £20 million venture, the single biggest investment Selfridges has made in a regional store since the opening of Selfridges Birmingham at the city’s Bullring centre in 2003.

The investment saw the transformation of the Lower Ground Floor into a Beauty Hall – the first ever beauty hall in the UK to be featured on this level of a department store – as well as a regeneration of the Accessories Hall which has welcomed bespoke boutiques with major luxury brands, unrivalled in the region.

Jane Sharrocks, General Manager at Selfridges Exchange Square said: “It’s incredible to think of everything we’ve achieved in the past ten years. From previews of new collections to launching international brands and helping to make them some of the most recognised names in the world, we’ve done it all. Our sales figures demonstrate the success and popularity of the store since opening, and we continue to thrive. We have built a reputation in Manchester and now see ourselves as an integral part of the retail community within the city.”

Throughout 10 years of trading Selfridges Exchange Square has produced remarkable sales in cult products and has played host to an array of world famous faces since it opened its doors, including Victoria Beckham and musical icon Liam Gallagher, to celebrated designer Roland Mouret and Manchester’s own Matthew Williamson.

Further, full refurbishments across designer and contemporary fashion are planned throughout the coming months and are expected to add to the store’s authority and its decade of huge success.
