National IPA Day / Thursday 4th August – 4pm until midnight

International #IPADay is a grassroots movement created to unite the voices of craft beer enthusiasts, bloggers, and brewers worldwide, using social media as the common arena for connecting the conversation together.

On Thursday August 4th, craft beer drinkers across the social sphere and across the globe will raise pints in a collective toast to one of craft beer’s most iconic styles: the India Pale Ale. This celebrated style represents the pinnacle of brewing innovation with its broad spectrum of diverse brands, subcategories, and regional flavour variations – making it the perfect style to galvanise the craft beer’s social voice.

Port Street will be stocking special IPAs from Summer Wine, Flying Dog, Thornbridge, Great Divide, Magic Rock, Victory, Stone (TBC) and Brew Dog.

Manchester Week / 16th August – 21st August 2011 – free

It comes with sad news that Colin Stronge from Marble leaves the infamous brewery this month, so Port Street have decided to celebrate all things MANCHESTER.

Being part of the fare city means a lot to them and Marble have been at the fore front of the brewing scene in this part of the UK, so they have decided to have a full week of glorious beers from the GREATER Manchester area.

Serving up fine brews from Marble, Phoenix, Quantum and more!

‘Meet The Brewer’ with Thornbridge
Monday 22nd August / 6pm – 8pm (bar open until 10pm)
£TBC advance tickets (on sale Tuesday 4th August)

Thornbridge, one of my favourite breweries, are coming over to Manchester and host an event.

Port Street will hopefully be presenting an exclusive brew created specially for us! Plus ‘Kill Your Darlings’, Versa and more

Scottish Week / 6th September – 11th September – free

A celebration of the north, the true north! We will donning our kilts, wearing those novelty ginger wigs and maybe doing a highland fling, all in celebration of some fine Scottish beverages.

On tap and cask will be selected beers from Black Isle, Highland, Brewdog, Tempest and Fyne.

Meet The Brewer with Red Willow
Monday 26th September / 6pm – 8pm (bar open until 10pm)
£TBC advance tickets (on sale soon)

With such wondrous beers as Faithless, Directionless and Smokeless Port Street are proud to introduce Red Willow to our Meet The Brewer series.

Head brewer Toby Mckenzie will be hosting the evening with some exclusive beers made especially for PSBH. This will also coincide with the launch of our Oktoberfest season (more details to follow)
