Lunch is sorted with Soop: Made-in-Manchester Noodles

Alex Markham was so fed up with the lack of hot, healthy grab-and-go lunch options that he decided to create his own. His Manchester-based brand, SOOP, is a range of freshly made, Asian-inspired instant noodle soups packed with protein and veg.

All SOOP’s noodle soups are freshly made, with no freeze-dried or processed ingredients. The ingredients are, wherever possible, locally sourced, including chicken, beef and pork from the North West, and fresh vegetables, herbs and spices from a company in Ancoats. The fresh ingredients are packed in a recyclable tub and the customer simply adds boiling water to create a quick, fresh, tasty soup.

There are currently five soups in the range, all priced at a purse-pleasing £4.50 and all under 400 calories per tub.

The five tasty tubs available to buy are:

  • Chicken & Pak Choi
  • Spicy Coconut Chicken
  • Beef Miso
  • Spicy Crispy Pork
  • Tofu & Wild Mushroom

People will be able to order their SOOP online and have free delivery to their business/office buildings in Manchester city centre, from the SOOP-branded delivery bicycle. Just place your orders through the website before 12 noon, to get your fresh lunch delivered between 12 and 1pm.

Alex explains: “It was vital that the SOOP tubs offered a healthy alternative to standard convenience food. A lot of time has been invested into researching and sourcing ingredients to ensure the taste or nutrition isn’t compromised for convenience.”
