Harvey Nichols has introduced a special menu this Valentines, which features some of the classics from their winter-market menu (the Stone Bass – thank God) as well as the introduction of some very tasty new dishes. Enjoy two-courses and a cocktail for £19, three-courses and a cocktail for £23 or swap it for BOTTOMLESS Prosecco for just £40 whilst overlooking Manchester’s stunning skyline. Win-win. The newly renovated River Restaurant is offering a 5-course dining option this Valentine’s (yes – five) it’s only £55pp and is available on both the 14th and 15th of Feb. That’s not all – they’re also hosting a month of Valentine’s Celebrations with a number of deals available until the end of Feb! If you fancy stopping over, there’s the Love at The Lowry Package (from £175) which includes an overnight stay, a three-course dinner for two, 2x cocktails and a full English brekkie. Also up for grabs is their great-value classic spa-deal (£130 per couple) which includes 2x treatments, Afternoon Tea for two and Prosecco. Lovely stuff.

There is nothing quite like a traditional Indian banquet to celebrate your love, and this is the offering this Valentine’s Day over at Zouk. For £30 per person, you will enjoy this five-course menu full of delicious Indian classics as well as a fun-spin on aphrodisiac eating with their oyster pakora served with coriander and apple. If you and your partner love food, then you will be sufficiently stuffed after a Valentine’s feast at Zouk.

Surely one of the most romantic spots has to be Manchester’s oldest independent Italian, Don Giovanni (actually it is – we’ve checked). They make their own fresh pasta, bread, and desserts in house daily and their drinks menu is exceptionally good – ESPECIALLY their famed homemade Limoncello. This Valentine’s (14th), they’ll be offering live-music and their delicious À la carte menu at their intimate and sleek site on Deansgate.

They always push the boat out over at La Bandera for Valentine’s Day and this year is no different. They’re offering a sublime 7 course menu for £55 per person, plus an optional wine flight for another £30. The menu is a combination of classics and unique Valentine’s additions such as their Chateaubriand with a Mushroom & Spanish Truffle Sauce, Slow cooked Oxtail in Red Wine Sauce and the ever-popular – Pulpo en Dos Cocciones – twice cooked octopus topped with mojo rojo.

There’s only one place to go to for a relaxed dining experience in an effortlessly cool surrounding all while you chug back as much Prosecco as you can stomach and that is Elnecot. They’re offering up their usual menu with a fair whack of extra-special romantic treats that are so far pretty secret. We’ve managed to find out that there is an Ox Cheek and Heart Pie up for grabs – it doesn’t get more on brand than that does it?!

Fancy something a little different? contemporary Chinese-inspired restaurant, Tattu, is welcoming the return of its ever-popular mini cinema screening event this Valentine’s weekend! On Sunday 16th of Feb, Tattu will be screening 3x classic rom-coms in their private dining room. There will also be a delicious 3-course sharing menu for diners to enjoy (which will include their famed hearts and roses dim sum baskets!) plus a sharing cocktail. The Ivy is celebrating the Day of Love with a beautiful love installation positioned at the entrance to get you in the mood and two brand new exclusive cocktails. When in Rhone (£10.50) is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth made of Sipsmith Chocolate Orange and Bramble Liqueur mixture. There’s also Rose Fizz (£11.50) pairing Lanique Spirit of Rose with Ivy Collection Champagne. And finally, a perfect sharing dessert of Roses are Red and Berries to0 (£16.95) a white chocolate cheesecake.

For the most romantic day of the year BAB have created a new Valentine’s menu where you can get 2 courses for £18 or 3 courses for £22. You are, of course, going to go for the 3 courses (unless you’re mad) and there’s plenty to choose from. Top of my list would be the splendid Flat Iron Steak Kebab (with whipped blue cheese and truffle), oh and their Greek Fries (topped with tzatziki, garlic mayo, feta, olives and chilli sauce). Mmmmm.

For the ultimate Valentine’s package, treat you and your other half to a 6-course showstopping meal and a stay in a luxurious room. Rooms are equipped with a gorgeous rainfall shower and the option to add on a rose petal turndown. The menu includes dishes from the Taste of Dakota menu, featuring dishes such as King Scallops, a sharing 500g Chateaubriand, Passionfruit Sorbet and Baked Alaska. You can also tuck into a Drinks Package fro £30 per person which includes cocktails and a bottle of Prosecco.
