Renowned and adored across the city for years, Salt & Pepper were recently forced to leave the Arndale Market due to extraction issues, making the very short journey down to Black Dog in the Northern Quarter. Every day (except Mondays when they’re closed) you can head down the steps of Black Dog for some of the same Salt & Pepper-y goodness. The Spanish are famed for their siestas – a chance for them to get out of the sun and have a nap in the afternoon. You could give yourself a bit of a challenge at Wolf at the Door for your lunch this week. Go in with a tenner and see if you can eat 10 of their £1 tacos and/or bao buns – I think you’ll struggle. You can get their Nacho and Char Siu Mushroom Tacos for a QUID, plus their Cauli Shawarma, or Chippy Tea for a QUID too.
