Even though most people only know them for their tendency to eat Guinea Pigs (which are delicious by the way), Peru is quickly becoming one of the world’s foremost destinations for foodies, and one that’s leading the way in traditional and often long-forgotten South American cuisine.
We’re lucky enough to have a dedicated Peruvian restaurant here in Manchester, with Peru Perdu serving up a selection of delicacies and dishes, including the most well-known – Ceviche.
This week they have launched a click & collect service, meaning you can get a selection of their most popular Peruvian dishes, which you then cook yourself.
You can choose from seven different recipe boxes, with each one containing all the ingredients you need to recreate their famed South American cuisine at home.
Dishes that are now available in recipe box form via Click and Collect include, Tiger Chicken priced at £9, The Ceviche Samplers from £20, a choice of Cod, Salmon or Seabass Ceviche for £7.50, Creamed Corn from £3.50 and Maple Glazed Duck with rice for £11.00
Alongside the recipe boxes, there is also a selection of fresh Vegetable Boxes packed full of nutrients and the finest cuts of meat from The U.W.A Butchery, available to buy from the new grocery store.
The Peru Perdu vegetable boxes contain all the essential vegetables to create a host of colourful and wholesome dishes, with produce in the boxes carefully selected by the Peru Perdu team, providing the very best range of food items known to help boost the immune system.
The options available include The Staples Box (£15.50) which includes 4kg of fruit, veg and the chefs choice of herbs for two people for three days, The Explorer (£16.80) with 4kg of staples with a few global influences, with produce from South America, Africa and Asia with matching herbs and spices again suggested to cater for two people for three days, a Smoothie Box (£12) with enough fresh produce to make six smoothies, and lastly a Green Goodies Box with all the staples for £10.
Those wanting to choose their own selection of fruit and vegetables can do so with 55 options of fruit and vegetables available on Click and Collect, with additional grab and go options including refreshing juices blended on site.
Orders should be made by 4pm for collection the following day (Monday to Saturday, closed for collection on Sunday) between 2pm -7pm after the order is placed. Orders ordered on Saturday will be ready for collection on Monday.
