XS Malarkey Online
Tuesday 14th April
I’ll happily put this brilliant XS Malarkey event in here every single week because basically – you should all tune in and have a right good laugh. The perfect bit of light relief during these mental times, XS Malarkey have firmly established themselves as the go-to bit of comedy during the COVID flu season. This week sees Josie Long, John Robertson and Sophie Duker take to the (virtual) stage, as well as Randy Feltface – a puppet who will be coming to your living room all the way from Australia.

Donnie Darko Watch Party
Wednesday 15th April
For anyone who hasn’t seen Donnie Darko – you’re in for a really rather strange time. Set in the 80s, it’s a story of time travel, the apocalypse, schizophrenia and large bunnies. The soundtrack is pretty amazing too. Ourscreen will be hosting this watch party on Wednesday, and all you need to do is dig out your copy of the film (the better theatrical cut of course) and join in the conversation using #DonnieDarkoLive on Twitter and Instagram. There’ll be PLENTY to talk about trust me.

FREE Guitar Lessons
Wednesday 15th April
You’re stuck in your house twiddling your thumbs – perhaps it’s about time to grab that dusty old guitar that’s been stuck in the corner of your room and finally learn how to play it. This fella is offering FREE guitar lessons on his Facebook page – so why not tune in and get twiddling something else? You’ll be taking it on holiday with you in no time – sitting around a campfire and singing crappy songs to try and impress people. As long as you’re nowhere near me – we’re gravy.

Making Neapolitan Aubergine Meatballs LIVE with Salvi’s
Thursday 16th April
Kicking off at noon on Thursday, Maurizio and his daughter Sienna will be continuing our LIVE streaming cooking demonstrations with Neapolitan Aubergine Meatballs – a vegetarian alternative to the classic Italian dish. Do click on the link below, grab your ingredients and get making it alongside them – the only thing you’ll regret is your ever-expanding waistline. Perhaps make sure that you do the Rave Yoga on Sunday too, and the 90’s Rave on Saturday night.

One World: Together at Home
Saturday 18th April
Lady Gaga has created this huge live event featuring a host of performers from all over the world – all coming together to raise money for frontline health workers and the World Health Organisation during the COVID-19 pandemic. So, who is on the line up? Well, Gaga will be there (obviously), as well as Alanis Morissette, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, Idris Elba, Lizzo, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and a load more (who I either don’t know or actually hate). Think of this as a Band Aid for COVID.

Unfazed 90s Rave
Saturday 18th April
It’s all about in-house raves nowadays and there’s nothing better than a proper bit of mucky 90’s action – and so this live stream from the Unfazed crew looks like it’s gonna be a winner. They’ll be kicking it all off from 6pm with DJs Mark Allan, Seane-C and DJ Play – belting out all of your favourite 90’s house bangers. Pop a Global Hypercolor t-shirt on and enjoy yourself.

Yo! It’s all about fitness! Fitness! Work off all of those Easter eggs, pies and endless Margarita’s with this Yoga Rave – a chance to show off some serious dance moves while also getting your legs over your head (and back around again). There’ll be a live DJ on hand to keep the tunes coming – so if this is your thing – get your LEISURE WEAR on and enjoy yourself this Sunday.

Hamlet @ The Globe
Until Sunday 19th April
You can now watch a lovely bit of Shakespeare in your very own home for FREE. Thanks to The Globe down in London as they are offering past performances free on their YouTube channel. This week sees their 2018 production of Hamlet being offered, starring Michelle Terry as the Danish prince. You know the story – it’s pretty much The Lion King but with more murder, more ghosts and some old-time language that’s not always easy to understand. A great bit of culture away from watching Tiger King though.

Paint with Pete Obsolete
Monday 20th April
This Monday we will be continuing our LIVE painting sessions with local artist Pete Obsolete – a chance for you to interact with Pete as he creates a masterpiece in his own backyard. It’s a lot of fun and really rather relaxing – especially on a Monday morning – quite possibly the worst time of the week when we’re all stuck in our houses.
