In a direct response to last week's news of a rival venue, Manchester Arena have unveiled new plans.
Last week saw Oak View Group announce a 23,500-capacity events venue over in Eastlands, which was set to be the largest indoor arena in Europe.
Well, not ones to get left in the dirt, Manchester Area quickly announced plans to extend their capacity by 3,000 – taking the number of people they can get through their doors to a whopping 24,000.
Initial plans have been unveiled which would see the creation of additional concourse levels and a dedicated level for VIP boxes and lounges.
The snazzy CGI also reveals a worker bee design for the outside, as well as ramps which will help improve people flow in and around the area.
Bosses are still in the process of consulting with Manchester City Council on the designs, as well as talking to the families of the May 2017 terrorist attack regarding a memorial.
