Art of the Brew: A Special Collaboration at The Refuge Arms

Located in the basement below the Refuge and the Principal hotel, The Refuge Arms will host a unique 'tap takeover' and collaboration between two of the finest breweries in the UK this Thursday 30th November.

Named Art of The Brew and hosted by Volta & The Epicurean, the night will be a memorable collaboration between Magic Rock Brewing Co. and Thornbridge Brewery. Together at The Refuge Arms they unveil their exclusive and highly anticipated new brew – Exaltation Session IPA 5.5%.

Performing on the night will be pianist to the stars, John Ellis. A secret ingredient in albums by The Cinematic Orchestra, Lily Allen, Corinne Bailey Rae, Tom Jones and many more.  Also, live music and DJ Lord Chester will provide soundtrack to the evening.

The history of these two world-renowned breweries runs deep, Magic Rock Brewing Co. is the result of three people’s passion, and inspired by their love of great beer and the burgeoning U.S craft beer scene, this Huddersfield based company have been in production for over 6 years and were voted ‘2nd Best New Brewery in the World 2012’ on the independent ratings site Rate Beer.

Thornbridge Brewery has a 12-year heritage that began in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall, in the heart of the Peak District. One of the market leaders, their initial focus was on a range of cask beers that used traditional recipes but provided a modern twist using a wide range of hops, malts and the innovation and passion of the brewing team. They have, to date, won over 350 national and international awards.

To experience this behemoth of a collaboration, Art of the Brew at The Refuge Arms will run an initial ‘First Pour & Meet the Brewers’ from 6-8pm. This will include a complimentary Exaltation and a chance to meet the brewers, tickets are priced at just £5 in advance.
