I think this the first week where Kate Tighe hasn't got something to write about. Let's all pray that doesn't happen again...

Portabello Pizza
Rudy’s
I don’t need to tell anyone that Rudy’s pizzas are the best in town. Actually, they just made it to the top 10 pizzas IN THE WORLD if you don’t believe me. The crust is delicious – chewy and charred and somehow still light and finished with a range of toppings that make it rather hard to choose. This time (on my umpteenth pilgrimage this year) I went for portabello mushroom white pizza with plenty of fior di latte mozzarella, oregano, Parmesan, garlic oil and fresh basil. Simple yet effective, food doesn’t get much better than this. – Charlotte Warrior

The Daisy
The Daisy
It is a pretty bold move to put your name on a cocktail -but it certainly pays off at The Daisy. All the drinks there are fabulous anyway, but I LOVE the namesake cocktail which combines Finlandia Vodka, with bergamot rosolio with grapefruit and tart lemon. The best bit is the rosemary smoke that comes with it which is a great bit of theatre and makes a lovely smell as you drink. – Ellie Edginton

Buffalo Wings
Bunny Jacksons
I know, you know, we all know that Bunny Jackson’s is just about the best place for chicken wings in Manchester. Now, I’m not proud to say it, but I’m a Bunny Jackson’s virgin that is until last night anyway. We ordered the classic Buffalo Wings and 2 pints. The deep fried crispy heaven that is battered chicken wings dribbled with lashings of firey Buffalo sauce might just be as good as sex. If you’re reading this not knowing what I’m talking about, I urge you to get down and try this 20p delight. – Alex Watson

Old Fashioned
Blind Tyger
A wise man once said that if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it and he must have been talking about an Old Fashioned. It is one of the most famous cocktails ever which combines whiskey with sugar, water and bitters with a twist of orange. The classic Old Fashioned at Blind Tyger is particularly good because the bartenders there really know their stuff and get the concoction just right every time. It isn’t on the main menu, but you can drink it on their Sunday Service or at their bottomless cocktail event this weekend. – Rikki Chan

Rib Loaded Nik Nak Fries
Cane & Grain
These absolute beauts are the current May special over at Cane & Grain and I cannot recommend that you get them in your gob as soon as possible highly enough. They get some of their brilliant chips, add some rib ends, BBQ sauce and then sprinkle liberally with one of the best crisps ever – Rib & Saucy Nik Naks. I ended up with crisps and sauce all round my mouth, on my t-shirt and all over the table – it was brilliant. – Jake Hardy
