Didsbury Village

Seven54
An all-day eatery right in the centre of Didsbury Village, Seven54 has been extremely popular since opening in 2021. It was once known as ‘The Deli’ and stood here for 17 years, until it was transformed into what you see today – a result of closing for six months during the COVID pandemic. With an even greater focus on the food menu, Seven54 is a fantastic spot for breakfast, lunch or an evening meal, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better menu of brunch dishes anywhere else in Didsbury. What’s better – they also have an additional menu of cocktails to go with your brunch – designed by award-winning mixologist Gethin Jones.

The Art of Tea
A cracking little cafe on Barlow Moor Road, The Art of Tea offer up an impressive Breakfast menu with all of your favourites (and a cracking Full English), plus loose leaf teas and beers, wines and spirits from around the world. The building itself is also home to a vintage bookshop – Didsbury Village Bookshop – with thousands of second hand books for you to flick through after your meal.

Caramello of Didsbury
This lovely little cafe serves up all day home-made breakfast, brunch, pancakes, waffles, Italian gelato and baked goods, alongside some excellent independent coffee roasters. Everything on the menu is made fresh in-house, and there’s plenty to choose from, from the classic Eggs Benedict and Smashed Avo to Acai Bowls and massive Biscoff French Toasts.

Corner & Bloom
A cracking family-run cafe here that serves up Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch every day from 9am. They do a great Full English Brekkie in here – complete with Grandad’s Sausages, and homemade hash browns and homemade beans – which really elevate the whole thing to another level entirely. We’re also massive fans of their brunch cocktails too – including an excellent Bloody Mary for banishing that hangover.

A Front for Something
An absolutely brilliant name for a brilliant cafe now. A Front for Something sits on Barlow Moor Road and serves up some great brekkie options, including their massive Full FFS Breakfast – which should ideally be enjoyed whilst wearing a hi-viz and drinking 3 cups of milky PG Tips. It looks great too, with an eclectic interior and a bench at the front which is perfect for some prime people watching whilst enjoying your bacon butty.

Rustica’s Cafe
A proper old school cafe on Cavendish Road, Rustica has been around for years. Proper no nonsense, you know what you’re getting when you walk in – a proper bacon butty, a big mug of tea and a read of the paper. They always have a decent selection of home-cooked specials on offer too – which can be a bit random at times, but otherwise delicious and best of all – fantastic value for money.

Kiosk On Lapwing
We absolutely LOVE this tiny little place on Lapwing Lane, which has been called everything under the sun since opening during the pandemic. From ‘Manchester’s Smallest Cocktail Bar’ to a “Cupboard That’s Been Completely Transformed Into Manchester’s Smallest Coffee Shop” – people have been going ga-ga over this place – and it’s not hard to see why. It was opened by Jemma O’Brien, who lives in the flat upstairs, and is perfect for morning bakes and coffee, and then in the evening – the booze comes out and it becomes one of Didsbury’s best hot spots.

West Didsbury

Thyme Out
Didsbury’s independent eatery just off Burton Road is a brunch paradise serving fresh coffee, food, pastries, juice and more! The menu has all the classics, with the Full Didsbury being a firm favourite – a South Manchester take on the infamous builders breakfast, complete with smoked Cheshire bacon, sausage, egg, homemade hash, black pudding, tomatoes, rosemary and sea salt mushrooms and sourdough toast, all for just £12.

Another Heart to Feed
Beginning its journey on Salford’s Chapel Street, Another Heart to Feed is a huge part of the beating pulse that is Manchester’s brunch scene. From natural wines to locally sourced ingredients, the cafe takes pride in everything it puts in front of its guests – and if you’re paying the team a visit anytime soon, make sure you try the Turkish Eggs that come with a dill labneh, harissa oil, and toasted sourdough with a choice of either halloumi or Merguez sausage.

FOLK
FOLK is an independent neighbourhood bar owned by four mates with a real passion for great coffee, food, booze and music. Brunch is served from 10am – 3pm every day, and it puts its own spin on traditional breakfast items such as the Bacon Butty, which comes encased in a brioche bun. If you’re looking for more refined options, though, go for the Steak and Eggs – flat iron steak with chimichurri, sourdough toast, 2 fried eggs and red pepper flakes. Delicious!

Taste of Honey
Your local friendly deli and brunch spot, Taste of Honey sits on Burton Road and serves a glorious menu of bagels, bakes and brunch faves every day from 8am – 4pm. Some of its breakfast menu items are also named after Manchester icons such as the Bez Breakfast Barm or the vegan alternative, The Morrissey – Meat Is Murder. Make sure you try the cold pressed juices, too. They go down a treat!

Rustik
Rustik is a contemporary hangout in the heart of Didsbury. The family business provides high-quality food and drink, as well as live music evenings and a fabulous cocktail menu that’ll suit you whatever time of day. Its brunch menu features the Full English and Smashed Avocado you’d expect from a place such as Rustik, alongside a Breakfast Burrito featuring sausage, bacon, fried egg, cheese, avocado and chilli jam.

Mary & Archie
This Didsbury bar and cafe recently relaunched its brunch menu, bringing back its famous Breakfast Burrito, Poached Eggs and Avocado and Eggs Benedict. It serves brunch, lunch, dinner and booze (just a few of my favourite things) Monday – Sunday, with the brunch menu available from 10am – 3pm. Mary & Archie is also known for offering some pretty sweet deals on food, so keep an eye out on the cafe’s instagram for the latest updates.
