Northern Quarter’s creative hub, Ducie Street Warehouse will celebrate the early May Bank Holiday, with “The May Weekender” – a FREE event that will run all weekend from Friday 29th April until Monday 2nd May.

The weekender will present a line-up of DJ collectives and record labels, from the likes of Sprechen Music, Ad Hoc Records, Beat Boutique and Nite School, as they curate the music inside the DSW’s lounge and outside on the beautiful South-facing Terrace.

Friday 29th April

On Friday 29th April from 5pm, Manchester’s renowned soul and disco DJs, Living Room Dance Club, will warm things up nicely as the warehouse heads into the weekender. Followed by Eastern Bloc’s Jim Bane kicking things off into the evening with his turntable skills and trustworthy selection, from 9pm to 1am.

Over on the Terrace, the mouth-watering legends Grandad’s Sausages are cooking things up for the ultimate BBQ and al fresco experience throughout the weekend – as they open from Friday 29th April until Sunday 1st May, from 1pm until sunset, offering their high-quality, artisan pork gourmet hot dog with locally baked brioche roll.

Saturday 30th April

Headlining on Saturday 30th April is Ducie Street Warehouse’s famous BIG DISCO BRUNCH PARTY featuring DSW’s signature brunch menu, including Crushed Avocado, Poached Burford Brown Eggs on sourdough and DSW’s Gochujang Fried Chicken served on waffles.

This month’s brunch theme for the weekender is British Disco with a selection of bottomless drinks – from Bramble and Mimosa cocktails, Prosecco and selected draught beer.

The disco brunch will run from 11am until 4pm and will be soundtracked by the region’s finest record label, Sprechen Music, with residents Justin Robertson, Massey, Muddy Feet and Marco Giannini. Moving to the Lounge from 4pm until 1am, Ad Hoc Records will take over the decks to present their soulful soundscapes and rhythms from around the world, from funk to deep house.

Sunday 1st May

Heading into Sunday 1st May, taking over the decks from midday to sundown, is local collective, Beat Boutique, providing the warehouse with the best in soul, boogie, funk and disco. Followed by headliner Tarzsa, from 10pm through to 1am, the talented DJ has quickly cemented a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting young DJs – a true champion of electronic, soulful music.

Closing off the weekender on Monday 2nd May from midday to 10pm, another Manchester favourite and notable rave collective, Nite School, will be in charge to keep the sound system running with house music.

In addition to the regular brunch menu, and unique to The May Weekender, food offerings on Monday 2nd will present an ALL-DAY ‘Recharge & Reset’ brunch menu for guests to ease back into the coming week – featuring Turmeric Fried Eggs with kale, tenderstem broccoli, sweet corn fritters and pomegranate seeds; Mango on French Toast with coconut yogurt, hazelnuts and puffed rice; Mixed Grain and Almond Milk Porridge with poached plums, alongside moju shots – Vitamin C, ginger, or turmeric – and The Green Lab smoothies – off the kale and cacao espresso martini.

The restaurant at Ducie Street Warehouse is bookable throughout the weekender, with curated offerings on Saturday for Disco Brunch and Sunday for Roast with Sides. Reservation in advance is recommended, and you can book a table via the link below.

The Lounge and Terrace are always open to walk-ins, ensuring there’s always space for locals, natives and passers-by alike. For more information on what’s on at Ducie Street Warehouse, please visit www.duciestreet.com/whats-on
