Isca Wines on Stockport Road is set to host an incredible evening of free flowing wine and carefully curated small plates this Saturday.
The evening will be joined by one half of the famous Brand Brothers, Jonas Brand who took over the family winery from their father Jürgen alongside his brother Daniel back in 2014.
With his support they expanded from 12 to 18 hectares and transitioned production to fully organic and natural. They produce wines that are full of energy, sometimes wild, but always delicious.
Jonas will be in attendance at Isca on Saturday to pour and chat through his very own creations. Guests can pop by from 5pm without the need to book, to grab a glass and meet Jonas. Then, from 7pm the wine tasting event will get under way, with 4 of his wines paired with food inspired by vegetables and herbs grown in the vineyard and the region of Bockenheim.
Bockenheim, where the Brand Brother’s vineyard resides, has a cooler climate than most of the Pfalz, therefore the grapes ripen a lot slower.
The weather in this area is also influenced by the Donnersberg mountain, which is around 650 metres high and subsequently shields the winery from incoming weather systems. The wind is then funnelled down two valleys, which means it is fairly breezy, helping to keep the vineyards free from mildew.
The event has also been put together with the help of Wines Under the Bonnet, a company that was established back in 2015 to promote UK-wide naturally made wines.
It has a direct relationship with many of the growers it works with, often visiting their vineyards and cellars, meeting their families and spending loads of time getting to know their wines.
Tickets for the full experience are priced at £45, or you can just book a table to pop by for a glass and a plate. Both options are available to book now via the link below.
