Opening its doors in Christmas 2021, Be Precious was founded by digital artist and Japanese food lover, John Wong and the restaurant’s Chef, Mandy.

The restaurant is inspired by the five elements – metal, water, wood, fire and earth and bases its menu and whole concept around these, with the logo also taking inspiration from the hexagram (out of 64) from I-Ching, Book of Change. In this auspicious hexagram of connection, heaven and earth enjoy communion – their energy connects, much like the vibe in Be Precious.

Be Precious specialises in a stunning selection of Bubble teas, Bubble Waffles and authentic Japanese Food, all of which are made without any artificial flavours or colourings.

Their teas are made only with loose leaf tea, fresh organic milk and fresh fruits and the waffles contain no waffle mix powder, no powdered creamer and no custard powder.

They have Japanese Rice Boxes filled with different meats and vegetables, as well as Gyozas, which are to die for, and come with either shrimp, beef, chicken or vegetables.

They’ve also introduced the popular Japanese dessert ‘Cream Puffs’ to their menu.  The original secret recipe is learnt from a Japanese Chef and the dish is all homemade.

They’ll be available at Be Precious from early March and you’ll be able to get a range of flavours including Strawberry Cream Puffs Cup, with yoghurt, strawberry jelly and fresh strawberry and the 5-Elements Cream Puffs Cup which will include vanilla, chocolate, matcha and caramel.

They’re currently based in Timperley Village in Altrincham and are only offering walk-ins with a small seating area. Be Precious is open Monday – Wednesday 11.30pm – 5pm and Thursday – Saturday 11.30am – 6pm, with the restaurant closed on a Sunday. Their food is also available to order through JustEat!
