Slice

Open Now
Arriving this week at Arlo’s on Stevenson Square, the return of Slice Pizzeria to its spiritual home is now complete. As I’m sure you’re aware, Slice had their very own, very impressive bar and eatery on the Northern Quarter square, but vacated the unit back in 2020. Since then they’ve been operating out of a hatch at Oxford Road Station, but now – they’ve returned – taking over the kitchens at Arlo’s indefinitely.

Super Happy

August TBC
With what feels like reading a John Le Carre novel sometimes, the Instagram page of Super Happy is rather mysterious when it comes to actual details – so let me tell you what we DO know. Super Happy MCR is a side-hustle from the team behind Batard, a sandwich shop using the very freshest ingredients and, naturally – the best bread imaginable. And that’s it. Will it be in a location or a dark kitchen? Dunno. What’s on the menu? Dunno. When will they let us know more stuff? Dunno. But we’re confident that it’ll be open this month. Hence this list.

The Chip Shop

August TBC
Piccadilly Approach is set to have a brand-new chippy, imaginatively called ‘The Chip Shop’. Taking over the former Northern Soul unity at the bottom of the approach, this will be a traditional fish and chips shop that remains open until midnight every day of the week. It promises to have a modern, “cool” interior paired with a proper chippy menu featuring the usual mushy peas, curry sauce and gravy action.
