This week saw the launch of Ramona and The Firehouse’s new live entertainment programme, one that champions and supports independent musicians and artists from across Greater Manchester.

The ‘Night Village’ will feature a five day party every week – including sets from the likes of Onipa, DJ Tristian Da Cunha, Dance Regular and Everything Everything.

On Thursday Ramona’s growing live session ‘Campfire Live’ goes from strength to strength. The 2022 programme kicks off Thursday 27th January with a set from Afro Futurist collective Onipa. The Ghanian/ London-based collective will be heading to Manchester to bring their signature high energy performance to Ramona fusing Afrobeat, UK Jazz and electronic music.

The performances will mark the start of a new musical chapter for the venue as the ground-breaking programme takes shape over the coming months with incredible FREE live performances all week, every Thursday. The line-up includes the best local talent and bands from across the globe as the Ramona team expand the scope, breadth and ambition of their live entertainment plans.

“We’ve been curating independent UK-based electronic, jazz and world music since we opened the doors. Moving into 2022 we’re ready to take things up a notch with our first bands from the continent, an upgraded sound system and the best up and coming acts and labels every week. And all for free – surely the city’s best kept secret” – Jonjo head of music and entertainment at Ramona and the Firehouse.

Next door at Ramona’s sister bar restaurant, The Firehouse’s runway parties continue every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

On the Runway the Firehouse dance crews are the stars of the show from garage two step superstars, Dance Regular, to the vogue inspired flamboyance of House of Ghetto. All alongside special guest selectas and arthouse performance artists.

Late night parties and music lovers can flit between the two venues for a free-flowing live music, art and performance experience like no other.

They’ve also launched their very own in-house weekly live radio station too, one which features guest DJs, servers and the crowd going ‘On Air’ and broadcast every Wednesday – live from the Tipi to the world.

Ramona Radio kicks off with legendary house specialist Tristan Da Cunha (Back 2 Basics, Dungeon Meat) first up to go ‘On Air’ armed with ‘whatever he wants ‘ on Wednesday 26th January. No doubt his tunes, rare gems and genre-defining cuts will create a very special selecta set to launch Ramona Radio. This will be the start of weekly ‘on air’ DJ sets – hosted by Ramona and The Firehouse’s very own music curator Jonjo, the whole set will be streamed live, supported with a new weekly podcast and accompanied by £5 margaritas all night.
