The story of Moregeous‘ unique outdoor supper clubs is one that follows creator Sian Astley, who moved over to Manchester from Lancashire in the 90s to study at univeristy and live in Fallowfield.
Once out of education, Sian began her career in hospitality, before diversifying into property, Airbnb and then a Project Manager for a hit BBC2 show. Which leads us up to the present day where she now hosts one of Manchester’s most exciting and innovative supper clubs.
Taking place from her Fallowfield family villa, the supper clubs give Sian the opportunity to “do something special with a house which has retained lots of original features, and space for us to share our knowledge of property and interiors.”
So, she began running ‘How To Renovate’ days via Airbnb Experiences – sharing what she’d learnt through years of renovating and working within the property industry.
This workshop then led on to one focusing on sustainable home and garden design using salvage and reclamation, which then led to the idea and concept of hosting her very own supper clubs from her home. “What little time I have is filled with eating and cooking, and after regularly attending other supper clubs and pop-ups for years, I was inspired and encouraged by other hosts to have a go myself!”
So Moregeous was created, an indoor and outdoor supper club in her home that invites chefs down to create their very own unique experiences. Next up on Saturday 13th August is chef Claire Woodier with her Summer Seafood & Sgroppino Supper Club.
The 5-Course event will kick off with a welcome cocktail, before Claire takes you on a journey down the coasts of Italy with market fresh fish, smoked salmon ravioli and a dark chocolate tart with pistachio mascarpone. The event is also BYOB – with no corkage).
