… and there’s a Manchester venue in there, and another too. Sort of. Ish. Let me explain.

Global travel site Big 7 Travel have spent the last year checking out suggestions from their audience on their favourite burgers, and coupled with contributions from the Big 7 Travel editorial team – have compiled a list of The 50 Best Burgers in Europe.

From Denmark to Ireland, this is an incredibly eclectic list of the best burgers in Europe, and even though we’re not officially still actually IN Europe – some of our burgers have made the cut.

Gasoline Grill, Copenhagen

Coming in at No 1. on this list is Gasoline Grill in Copenhagen, a gaff that has been winning tonnes of awards and Big 7 Travel insist provide “epic levels of tastiness.”

First UK entry on the list comes from the impressive Burger & Beyond in London at 3rd place, followed closely by 7Bone Burger Co. in Portsmouth in 4th place – who I’ve never heard of but sure do look good.

In a very respectable 20th place though is Hawksmoor in Manchester, where “their classic burgers should be illegal it’s so much fun.” We tend to agree, Hawksmoor’s meat is pretty much unparalleled in the city and their burgers are actually really, really good. I think they tend to get overshadowed sometimes by the truly excellent steaks and meat in there though – and as the saying (sorta) goes – why have a hamburger when you’ve got steak?

Served with either Ogleshield cheese or Stichelton, the meat in the burgers is from 100% grass-fed beef from traditional breeds, with small nuggets of bone marrow in there to keep things juicy and meaty throughout. Pair with some of their outstanding Dripping Fries, or better yet their super-cheesy Tunworth Mash and you’re laughing.

A few years back they did a ‘Big Matt’ Burger – their take on a Big Mac and it was absolutely bloody mega – let’s try and bring it back!

Also on the list (at 32nd place) is Almost Famous in Liverpool, but considering we have two here too – you can notch another one up for the Manchester burger crew.
