Bolton Food and Drink Festival hits a huge milestone this Bank Holiday weekend as it returns for its 20th edition. Promising a stellar line-up of TV chef masterclasses, incredible street food traders, family fun and live music, the weekend is set to be bigger and better than ever. Culinary icon Marco Pierre White will be doing live demonstrations, as will long-time BFDF patron James Martin, sharing their years of cooking knowledge, expertise, and top tips.
Celebrating two decades of the festival, visitors can browse more than 180 traders, serving everything from global food to sweet treats and vegan delights. With free entry and a huge programme of free family activities, it’s the perfect end-of-holiday weekend for families to spend time together, without spending a fortune.
A backdrop of live music will provide the soundtrack, with acts including East 17 and Odyssey taking to the stage, as well as plenty of street performers. The Festival Garden will also offer a leafy escape in the heart of the town where little ones can enjoy fruity snack making, s’mores toasting, clay boggart crafting, messy play and even a spot of worm hunting – mud kitchen included.
Inside the Octagon Theatre, the Family Festival returns for a special day of free entertainment. Expect live theatre, storytelling, arts and crafts and the ever-popular bubble-fuelled family disco.
