Ad Hoc in Northern Quarter dedicate their forthcoming wine tasting to The Judgement Of Paris. The historic competition took place in the French capital in 1976, and revolutionised the way the wine world was perceived.
French oenophiles participated in two blind tastings – one of top quality Chardonnay, and the other of reds (Bordeaux from France and Cab Sauv from California). Rather embarrassingly, a Californian wine rated best in each category. It was shocking at the time as France was widely regarded as being the foremost producer in the world.
