Wed 24th - Thu 25th Apr, 2024

Making a Mark: Informed by Ink is an exhibition by BA Fine Art & Art History and BA Art History and Curating students from Manchester Metropolitan University. The exhibition, an investigation into the nuanced relationship between ink and its power, will take place at SAAN1 gallery from 24-25 April 2024.

Whilst artists have been commissioned, they are also running an Open Call for any artists or creatives whose practice aligns with the exhibition’s theme.

Taking inspiration from the Portico Library, they are looking for submissions from artists that utilise ink in any way within their practice. Works should be informed by or relate to; power, knowledge, revolution, identity, transformation, tattooing, embossing, print or etching. They encourage submissions from tattoo/hand-poke artists, with an aim to re-contextualise tattooing practices within a fine art setting.
