Public Image Ltd. (PiL), widely recognised as one of the most inventive and influential groups in music history, marks a triumphant return with ‘End of World’, their eleventh studio album and the first in eight years. The band, which celebrated its 40-year anniversary in 2018, boasts a track record of five UK Top 20 singles and five UK Top 20 albums, testament to their visionary approach to music. Under the leadership of John Lydon, PiL’s ever-evolving lineup and distinctive fusion of rock, dance, folk, pop, and dub have seen them through from their debut album ‘First Issue’ in 1978 to 1992’s ‘That What Is Not’, prior to a 17-year hiatus. Lydon reformed PiL in 2009, embarking on extensive global tours and releasing two critically acclaimed albums. Today, with Lydon, Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth, and Bruce Smith at the helm, PiL continues to push boundaries and pursue innovation in music.
