The Rex Hotel is opening the doors to Reserve, its usually private members’ bar, for an intimate evening of Scotch whisky tasting on 21 May. The guided session brings together four distinctive drams, moving through Speyside richness, coastal elegance and classic blended finesse, all inside one of the city centre hotel’s most refined spaces.
On the tasting table is Aberlour A’bunadh, The Glenlivet 15 Year Old, Scapa 16 Year Old and Chivas 18 Year Old, each chosen to show a different side of Scotland’s whisky-making character. Expect the sherried depth and cask-strength punch of Aberlour, the bright floral polish of The Glenlivet, and the saline softness of Scapa, shaped by Orkney’s wild coastal climate. The evening finishes with Chivas 18, a smooth, luxurious benchmark in blended Scotch. Places are limited, so expect this one to fill quickly.
