On Sunday 1st December, The Manchester Dig Deep Kilimanjaro Team will attempt to cover 5895m in just 9 hours. Manchester Climbing Centre will be hosting the charity event where participation is welcome: if you join the team for a climb, you’ll be automatically entered into a prize draw. There will even be a lucky dip for the children who lend a helping hand.
The Brit Rock Film Tour will be screening at 19:00, but earlier the team will be working hard to break down their 5895m target, alongside competitions and raffles to win prizes from some familiar faces (The North Face, Pieminister, TeamSport and Heavenly Cakes – to name a few).
This event is in aid of the charity Dig Deep, who work in South West Kenya, where 8 out of 10 people don’t have the access to clean water and sanitation. T
heir focus is to work with schools and communities to build taps and toilets and facilitate vital hygiene and menstrual health training to the next generation!
