The Irwin Mitchell mjf originals new commission for mjf’s 20th year presents polymath and leading light of Manchester’s music scene John Ellis (Lily Allen, Cinematic Orchestra) in collaboration with renowned moving-image artist Antony Barkworth-Knight. This bold new audiovisual work is staged in the spectacular setting of The Great Hall, inside Manchester’s iconic Town Hall. Fittingly, The John Ellis Big Bang headlined the very first mjf in 1996.
What is evolution? Everybody’s doing it, you’re doing it now, whether you like it or not. But where is it taking us? Where have we come from? And is it time for refreshments yet?
Looking at evolution through the prism of our personal and collective histories and futures, Evolution: Seeds and Streams features creative artists from a variety of backgrounds and an immersive film and animation experience. It’s a show guaranteed to stimulate, entertain and elevate.
