Today sees a double celebration for popular northern quarter restaurant and bar Thomas. As the stylish Thomas Street venue celebrates its second birthday, it also launches a spring menu and announces a new ‘after work’ bar offer. Thomas toast its second birthday with the arrival of its new spring menu. Highlights of the menu for me include a Lobster bisque (a luxurious, smooth soup with lobster, tomatoes, butter & white wine) and the Thomas chocolate éclair (with fresh strawberries and Chantilly cream)
A special offer has been launched to coincide with the new menu, between noon and 7pm Monday to Saturday choose two courses (most starters, mains and desserts are included) for £13.95. The new menu is complimented by a small but perfectly formed wine list and a comprehensive cocktail menu, again reflecting customer favourites. April also sees the launch of ‘Thomas After Work’ – running from 4-7pm Monday to Friday offering great savings on selected wines, cocktails, beer and delicious bar treats.
Behind the venue are Paul Astill, Nicky Rybka-Goldsmith and Yvonne G. Rybka Erskine, a formidable team who between them also own Cord and The Bay Horse. Yvonne has an extensive restaurant industry background – Reform, Restaurant Bar and Grill and Lounge 10, Nicky is a prominent spokesperson within the Northern Quarter and Paul has designed many interiors within the business, including Thomas.
Commenting on the second birthday celebrations, Nicky said:
“It’s been a fantastic couple of years for Thomas, we’ve worked hard to refine the new menu, ensure quality and value remain constant and respond to customer demand. We have a great loyal following and our new after work bar deals are one way we can thank everyone a little for helping make Thomas what it is.”
Winner of City Life’s Best Newcomer Award in 2010, Thomas has a loyal following, perhaps a little in thanks to the dining and drinks menu at Thomas being a collection of everyone’s favourites, having been honed and refined using direct customer feedback.
