Manchester’s award winning pop-up food party specialist Guerrilla Eats is making itself at home in Shudehill’s newest creative event space The Wonder Inn, and this week adds to the street food fun by inviting guests into The Gin Cupboard (Under the Stairs).

A cosy nook brimming with plentiful gins, tonics and complementary garnishes to suit every taste, The Gin Cupboard stocks at least twenty gins with everything from the smooth, clean, dry Junípero Gin (Anchor Distilling, San Franscisco) garnished with rhubarb, to Few’s Barrel Aged (Illinois), distilled in oak barrels and presented with orange.

Inspired by a pure love for gin, and commitment to serving the personally perfect gin and tonic to each and every customer, The Gin Cupboard is just one element of Guerrilla Eats’ plans for additional fun to complement their street traders’ food.

Guerrilla Eats co-founder Scott Power comments: “We’re halfway through our 12 week residency at The Wonder Inn now, and the beauty of the building is that it is constantly evolving. We’re incredibly happy with the food offering, so now we’re growing into the space and each week we’re adding something new. Given that we know and love to sip a fair few G&Ts, a Gin bar seemed the obvious addition and it’s looking to be a big hit.”

“We’ve also hosted pop-up gigs and live art, we’ve brought in some old school video games and now have big plans for some guerrilla (and gorilla) style fun for the coming weeks”

First and foremost though, the focus of each Guerrilla Eats is always food, with six of the UK’s finest independent street food traders taking over two floors of the venue.

This week sees grilled American style frankfurters from Dirty Dogs alongside Big Grillie Style‘s exquisitely cheesy grilled sandwiches; Dim Sum Su‘s cheeky Cantonese street food next to dirty gourmet street food burgers from Dirty Food Revolution, plus indulgent crepes from Madame Francois.

With its feet firmly under its ever popular Chef’s Table, Bangers and Bacon, has produced a 30-seater dining room on the first floor, offering two sittings per Saturday for a completely bespoke five course menu, created with seasonal ingredients, their award winning sausages and dry cured bacon and a whole lot of personality.

This week the craft beers rotating onto the upstairs bar will be Ozark Pale (Track Brewing Co), Californian Love (Roustabout Brewing Co), Pale Ale (The Runaway Brewery), Space Invader & Canadian Chainsaw Massacre (Alphabet Brewing Co), Small Beer & Bean Brothers Espresso Stout (Squawk Brewing Co) in addition to the fully stocked bar.

As ever, admission is free, and Guerrilla Eats is family friendly, with kids welcome until 9pm.
