True Faith – A Celebration of Manchester-Made Talent

True Faith celebrates the work of Manchester’s established and emerging talent with
a very special series of gigs and talks at Manchester International Festival’s Pavilion
Theatre, curated by DJ and writer Dave Haslam.

Close Up is a short series of exclusive onstage conversations which see Dave Haslam interview Manchester icons Bernard Sumner of Joy Division and New Order, music writer and broadcaster Paul Morley, and former Magazine/Bad Seeds bass player and soundtrack composer Barry Adamson.

The live gigs feature a handpicked selection of Manchester’s most exciting new bands, performing original material and one-off covers with some very special guests. The gigs have been curated by Everything Everything (5 July) and Dave
Haslam (6 & 12 July).

“Following the success of True Faith at Manchester International Festival in 2009, many of the featured acts, including Delphic and Everything Everything, have
subsequently leapt even further into the spotlight,” says Dave Haslam. “Linking these live gigs to onstage interviews with three people who’ve made their mark internationally is a celebration and a statement: the current generation is picking up the baton, but running off in a different direction. That’s the best thing about the Manchester music scene; it’s always being remade, remodeled.”
