The UK’s hottest BBQ and music festival, Grillstock is debuting in Manchester’s Albert Square on 8th and 9th May – bringing Music, Meat and Mayhem to the city with a low ‘n’ slow barbeque competition, international music, a ‘barbecue academy’, unique ‘Brooklyn Brewery Dive Bar ‘and now legendary chilli eating and rib eating competitions.
This festival is THE destination for anyone that loves real tasty food with the chance to watch and sample food from the 12 teams battling it out for the crown of first King of the ‘Q’, a huge two-day US style ‘low and slow’ BBQ competition for the chance to win £1000 and the chance to compete in the prestigious American Royal Invitational in Kansas.
Brave Manchester festival goers can get involved with the now legendary Chilli-Eating Competition as well as the mouth-watering rib-Eating competition and the informative and entertaining BBQ academy.
Headliners Kitty Daisy & Lewis will be joined by Grillstock favourites the Congo Faith Healers, combining down and dirty gypsy blues with wild guitar playing and voodoo vocals. Riot Jazz will provide a twisted mix of funk, soul, hip-hop and jazz, while Dr Tid & the Triple Eights, Manchester’s own Honeyfeet as well as classy country act The Good Intentions.
Along with this musical feast, festival goers can visit the Brooklyn Brewery Dive Bar, promising some of the best craft beers shipped specially from the US, including the chance to try out some never before tasted US beers.
