Mad Friday is one of the craziest nights of the year and behind New Year’s Eve this weekend is probably the busiest in most DJ’s calendars. Here’s where to get in the Christmas spirit this Friday and Saturday.

1. Hit & Run Christmas Party

hit

Its been quite a year for Hit & Run. Hosting stages at some of the biggest festivals around, several parties at Fabric and continuing to be one of the major contributors to Manchester’s clubbing scene are just a few of their achievements. Friday see’s a strictly residents fancy dress party at Antwerp Mansion with the best dressed winning a year’s free pass to all Hit & Run events as well as a bottle of Brandy to firmly send you on your merry way. Expect beats and bass from “Crimbo” Chimpo, Jonny “Jingle Bells” Dub, Rich “Rudolph” Reason and “Under The Mistletoe” Metrodome

2. Dub Smugglers 4/5th ANNUAL Office XMAS Party

dub

If like me you ducked out of your work party this year but are still craving the annual donning of a suit, get down to Islington Mill on Friday night. With strict dress code of “office attire” and a last man standing competition this one looks like it could get out of hand. Line up consists of Dub Smugglers closest chums and promises to be a very natty Christmas party, hopefully full of office sluts. There is very limited capacity at this one so early attendance is vital, we don’t want any tears this festive period.

3. Substance: Madchester Friday

I saw this night and this first thing I thought was ‘Jesus Christ that is going to be mental’. Back To Basics legend Dave Beer is the main highlight as he plays breakbeats, drum & bass, African beats and anything else he feels like at Gorilla on Friday. Dave is joined by Terry Christian, Bobby Langley and Craig Gill for an all out Christmas mash up. Oh yeah and just to add to the madness that bloke Bez is there as well, not for the faint hearted.

4. Grey Area

Introducing Grey Area, a brand new night to Manchester looking to have an impact on the techno scene. For their first venture they host Monoloc and Cleric as well as residents down at Joshua Brooks (recent recipients of a new Void sound system) on Saturday night. Definitely looks worth dragging your drunken mates down.

5. Meat Free Xmas Residents Party – Pay What You Want

Just like a Gremlin this night has three rules 1) Pay what you want for entry 2) Be smothered in glitter 3) Be nice, thank god you can have a pint after midnight though. Disco, techno and house are on the menu at Joshua Brooks on Friday as the Meat Free lot get their inflatables out for one last time in 2014.
