The likelihood of you living around Manchester & not having heard of PINS is slim, and that is a very good thing.

The Manchester based four-piece produce sounds that are scratchy raw & analogue rough injected with feminine surf that has to deal with Mancunian weather! They have an energy and pace that is both guitar twangily sprawling and shoutily uptight (these are suitably made-up words, damn it this band make me feel more than averagely rebellious). They draw obvious comparisons to Joy Division in essence, though are laced with sterner more electrifying stuff that is genuinely exciting to behold!

With their haunting echoed and layered vocals, they sit well signed to Bella Union (founded by two of the three Cocteau Twins) who know more than a thing or two about gothicly tinged ethereal wave! Very much steering their own ship however, Pins recently recorded their debut album at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studio; recording and self-producing ‘Girls Like Us’ in its entirety within the space of a week!

Due for release on the 30th September, the album launches at The Castle, Oldham Street and has already sold out. To catch them in Manchester you can buy tickets to their show at Dulcimer, Chorlton on the 4th October.

Certain to be darkly charged and extremely haunting show I suggest you buy tickets quick, as like with their Castle gig, they are bound to sell out fast.

You can watch their brand new and very stylish video for their title track ‘Girls Like Us’ is here:
