They have a blonde leading lady, and have been in the studio with Mike Chapman, a producer well-known for playing an integral part in the recording of Blondie's breakthrough album, Parallel Lines. And while the results may differ from Debbie Harry and Co in terms of technical sound, they're impressive nonetheless. Chapman was so blown away in fact he went on to confess his love for the "kids", explaining that the two studio sessions he was involved with for The Arcadian Kicks are amongst the best work he has ever done. Which is something regulars at the band's club nights in their Birmingham hometown will have probably been expecting. A mixture of synth-pop, grunge, and garagey rock crowds at the Isle of Wight, T in the Park, and Wychwood festivals may have also cottoned on to the emerging talent here, as they've already graced said stages. The last few months have seen no let up in workload either, with the results of such toil being evident in Play The Girl, a single released on free download through EMI last week.
