Beards of Manchester is a hairy initiative all in the name of charity, and fun of course.

Beards of Manchester is a hairy initiative all in the name of charity.

Beards of Manchester is a calendar featuring the city and some of its hairiest inhabitants – big bushy beards, groomed moustaches, goatees, exciting hair/beard/sideburns combos. Beards of Manchester is a project that grows with the size of your beard.
The calendar features 12 magnificent beards for 2011 and is sold at various outlets in Manchester. Beards were chosen from an online beard gallery containing images uploaded by the owners of the beards  and the best beards (and their owners) were invited to a photo shoot with Manchester-based photographer Gill Moore. (Alot of use of the word beards)
The calendar launched on October 21st with an exhibition at Common on Edge Street. All profits of the calendar sales go to the Lifeshare charity, which supports homeless people in Manchester and Salford.

UPDATE 2011
The Beards of Manchester calendar is available from over 20 outlets in Manchester and online from Fred Aldous. So far over 300 calendars have been sold, raising £1,500 pounds for Lifeshare, and had great feedback from the media, including the MEN and BBC Radio Manchester – for a complete list see the press coverage section on beardsofmanchester.com.
