If you fancy a fantastic live music and comedy night for FREE then head down to the Palace Theatre’s refurbished Revue Bar this summer.

Guests can just turn up, sit back and watch the entertainment- no tickets required! The Palace’s first event is being held on Thursday 26th July, when 52 Skidoo will perform at a speakeasy themed evening.

Fans of the forgotten era of the speakeasy, prohibition, vaudeville, tin pan alley, New York rent parties and hot jazz will lap it up! For those who have never seen 52 Skidoo they billed as ‘an unlikely collection of drunks, gamblers, misfits and outlaws’ performing Harlem Swing as if you were back in the 1920’s.

The following month, Thursday 30th August will see music from Jim and Dan, aka The Pocket Aces at an evening featuring an eclectic mix of jazz and pop.

Finally Thursday 20th September will see an evening of stand -up comedy at the Revue Bar, with sets from Barry Dodds, Hayley Ellis with Pete Otway taking on the mantle of M.C..

Stacey Broadmeadow, deputy general manager of the Palace Theatre, told Finest: “We are hosting a series of live entertainment events over the quieter summer period and have picked three different events that tie in with the name of the Revue Bar – which will be open as a separate entity to the theatre – as well as reflecting the theatre’s roots as a variety venue. The acts can be enjoyed within a relaxed environment and are perfect for those after-work drinks.”

Talking of drinks Finest has been told they have a few cheeky special offers to enjoy at the bar including 20% discount on drinks and for those who want the ‘Summer’ feel (even though its chucking it down outside) you can also get 2 cocktails for £8.
