We aren’t just shouting about it’s opening night, it is also the first play penned by Mancunian writer David Gregan-Jones, the first ever winner of Hope Mill’s ‘Powerhouse Plays’ initiative.

Gregan-Jones’ dissection of intimacy, secrets and marriage sought off competition from playwrights across the north of England to be named one of five winners in February this year. Now, with a six-performance run, this play is being brought to the stage for its premiere by The Wonderhouse Theatre Company,  produced by Hannah Ellis. A tour of the country in 2018 is also in the works.

The play takes place on a quintessentially Mancunian street and tells the story of Marie, who returns home one evening to unexpectedly uncover the truth about her husband, Paul. Trapped in one room, both explore their lives in a passionate, ruthless and tender examination of marriage.

After a 5-star, sell-out run, of the smash hit Constellations, Wonderhouse Theatre Company return to the Hope Mill with their premiere of What I Felt Whilst Under You.

What I Felt Whilst Under You runs from Tuesday 17th October to Saturday 21st October
