Say 'Bollox' to New Year's Eve at The Deaf Institute

Manchester’s unapologetically queer club night will once again return to The Deaf Institute this NYE to say a big eff you to 2021.

Bollox has quickly become one of the best monthly alternative nights out in Manchester. The club brings together the best of the city’s creative queer scene, soundtracked by a no rule musical mash up that sees Kylie coexists with Nirvana, and Joy Division and Donna Summer become an unlikely pair.

After missing out last year due to COVID restrictions, and battling a similarly difficult 2021, the club is welcomed back with open arms again this New Year’s Eve.

Expect three floors of hot gay club action featuring some extra special DJs, that Bollox are still keeping us in the dark about! (The anticipation, I can’t take it!!)

Previous years have seen DJs including Zoe Mc Veigh, Beardre Barlow and special guests Chew Disco whip the crowd into a frenzy with the sounds of Janelle Monae, Bjork, The Slits, Beyonce, Girls Aloud, and Prince, as well as Manchester collective and Soup Kitchen residents, Kiss Me Again who play a well-seasoned mash up of disco, house and techno.

Performances by the legendary House of Ghetto have also graced the stage at previous New Year’s Eve Bollox parties, and if you haven’t already heard of this gorgeous collective of visual artists, dancers and all round gorgeous creative souls, then lend us your ear!

House of Ghetto is a dance and visual arts company that grew from the UK Vogue Ball scene. Its main aims are to excite, entertain and have fun with the projects it embarks on, inspired by fashion, music, film, photography and the ever-changing world. Not afraid to explore the political and the personal, House Of Ghetto has become a unique voice in the UK arts landscape.

So, even though the line-up is yet to be revealed, something says this year is going to be a big one! Surround yourself with your favourite friends, artists and performers at The Deaf Institute this year at a 7-hour party that promises to supercharge your queer energy deep into the dankest January.

Bollox’s New Year’s Eve event is currently sold out, but you can join a ticket waiting list via the link below.
