The seasonal menu is the perfect way to kick off your evening, feast yourself on 2 courses from £22, three courses from £25 per person or add the bottomless house wine and Prosecco for £35 per person. Do we reckon that has to be the deal of the century? Yes, we do…

To start, chose from chilled pea soup served with buttermilk and topped with a sprinkling of pumpkin seeds or a smoked-haddock fishcake served with a firey rocket salad on a bed of creamed leeks and watercress.

Failing that, there’s even a pulled pork starter served with apple purée, julienned spring vegetables and even a crispy puffed bit of pork crackling to top it all off.

For the main courses, there is an option of chicken breast with a layer of smokey sweetcorn puree. This comes served with two delicious chicken croquettes, spinach and lashings of a rich and sticky gravy.

I have to say this is one of the most delicious chicken dishes I have ever sampled. I even demanded the chef come out to tell me how he managed to get such a crispy skin and a tender, juicy middle all at once.

Indulge in a flaky cod fillet, sweet potato cream perfectly balanced by truffle-mashed potatoes, topped with crispy onion curls for an added texture. I was dubious that the strong notes of truffle would work with the fish – but you know what? It did.

Cod is a meaty fish which was perfectly paired with the creamy truffle mash and the bright and colourful sweet potato cream made a delicious sauce which tied everything together.

There’s also the option to upgrade to a Holcroft farm dry-aged beef sirloin steak served with french fries, watercress and a classic peppercorn sauce. A pretty tempting option for an extra £6.

If you’re not full yet, there is also a choice of three classic desserts, a rather delightful banoffee creme brûlée with a crispy, crackable top or a vanilla fool served with rhubarb compote and crumble.

Tuck into the humble carrot cake, topped with a tangy goat’s cheese frosting with citrus zest twist which makes the perfect end to any meal if you ask us.

The Prix Fixe menu is available now Monday to Saturday from 5 pm making express dining more effortless than ever. You should certainly go for the Bottomless option too – which will wash down all this delicious food with as much fizz or house wine as you please for a whole hour and a half.

Book yourselves into the Harvey Nichols Second Floor Brasserie to get your fill of the Prix Fixe menu as soon as you can.
