Indian and Pakistani restaurant Royal Nawaab, who have two huge locations in London, have revealed inside the £15 million development of their new flagship site.

The massive new location will be the largest of its kind in Europe, boasting a 400-capacity restaurant, as well as three separate banqueting suites with capacities ranging from 150 to 800 people per suite. Located in the iconic Stockport Pyramid, it’ll have the feel of a luxury hotel, and the capacity of a cruise ship.

Guests will enter though a grand lobby, featuring custom lighting that cascades down several stories, as they make their way to the 400 seater restaurant. The menu will range from all your curry house classics to the most elaborate of signature dishes – 140 of them in total – with 150 staff working at any one time.

Dishes will be prepared fresh in front of customers, made to order in the ‘theatre kitchen’, a distinctive feature of founder Mahboob Hussain’s hospitality approach, who opened his first restaurant in Bradford in 1987.

The ‘live’ dessert kitchen alone will feature 40 different desserts, and the ‘walk-in dishwasher’ will have the capacity to wash 2000 dishes an hour.

The upper floors will each feature a banqueting suite, designed for weddings and other large-scale celebrations, each of which will have its own kitchen too, as well as dedicated bridal suites for makeup and wardrobe changes throughout the festivities.

From the kitchen install to the lighting design, Royal Nawaab have worked with all local suppliers. In fact, £8 million of the project’s budget has been spent on working with local tradespeople such as bespoke lighting designers Chantelle Lighting, WDC Creative designers and Style Matters interior design.

Royal Nawaab Pyramid is set to open later this year.
