Manchester International Festival (MIF) is getting prepped for another extraordinary few days taking place from July 1st to July 18th this year.

The festival has specially-created a lineup of events, working closely with artists and venues to create a varied and flexible festival that can safely go ahead with whatever restrictions are in place.

The programme is due to be announced in late Spring but the festival is now looking for local people to get involved as volunteers to make the festival as special as possible.

John McGrath, Artistic Director and Chief Executive of MIF said:

“We are sure that MIF21 will be an extraordinary 18 days, in whatever format we present it. We want the Festival to be a celebration of being together, an opportunity to reflect and share ideas, and a way of supporting each other and we want you to be part of it.”

In 2019, over 500 volunteers helped the festival take place.

This year, flexibility and safety are at the core of the volunteer programme to allow all participants to make informed decisions about what they are comfortable doing – when they are ready to do so and all in line with the latest government guidelines.

You need to register your interest by April 29th with spaces allocated in late spring.

Initially, all volunteers will be recruited as ‘Festival Fronteers’ an important audience facing role, however other opportunities including online support may also be available.

Lee Ashworth, Volunteer Manager at MIF said:

“We are so lucky to have a wonderfully diverse and supportive community of volunteers who are passionate about the arts, the Festival and our city. Without their dedication, energy and enthusiasm the Festival would not be possible – and we can’t wait to welcome new volunteer team members this summer.”
