Prepare you have your minds blown, perceptions tested and brain bent out of shape, with the arrival of Museum of Illusions in Manchester later this month.
The Museum of Illusion will be an immersive world of optical illusions and interactive exhibits, and it will open its first UK location on Market Street on 27 September.
There are already 50 Museum of Illusions across 25 countries, attracting 15 million visitors a year to attractions like its walk-in kaleidoscope, the Reversed Room, the Vortex Tunnel and Infinity Room.
According to the people behind the concept, there will also be a few tailored exhibits with a Manchester twist too.
The Reversed Room will boast a Manchester tram illusion where visitors appear to hang upside down from a Metrolink tram; The Following Eyes Illusion – where a famous Manchester persona can’t get their eyes off of guests; and The Building Illusion – where visitors can appear to hang from an iconic Manchester building.
Steven Buchan, general manager at the Manchester Museum of Illusions, said: “We are delighted to have Manchester chosen as the first UK location for the Museum of Illusions, as it’s known for its vibrant cultural scene, rich history, and reputation as a hub for innovation and creativity.
“Market Street, with its bustling atmosphere and central location, perfectly complements our mission to make interactive, educational experiences accessible to everyone.
“The Manchester location will offer a unique experience that blends our globally recognized exhibits with specially curated installations inspired by the city’s iconic landmarks and cultural heritage, making it distinct from our other locations around the world.”
