Created in 2015, the speakeasy barbers that is hidden 18 feet underground was designed to be ‘anti-barber’. No more cramped spaces or uncomfortable conversations. Instead, a safe space where people are heard.
Barber Below is a Northern Quarter barber that welcomes everyone regardless of gender, race or sexual preference.
This year, they’re taking the inclusion agenda one massive step further.
Offering up a ‘Pay What U Can’ service to welcome all budgets. There are no rules, only that you pay what you can at the end of the service. Whether that is as little as 1p or as much as the full price of the haircut.
The guys also accept plants, baked goods and artwork as forms of payment – the more creative the better!
“This is something myself and the team are extremely proud of. Our main brand focus is that we are an inclusive space and PWUC is a step in the right direction. To eliminate any charges for a service will not only open up our business to many more potential clients, it will also let us focus on what we do best which is making people feel valued” – Rob Czlapka (Owner of Barber Below).
‘Pay What U Can’ starts on Saturday 22nd February and will run every Saturday.
