During this time of lockdown we’ve all pretty much discovered new pleasures – some have been baking, some have been gardening, while a select few have taken up the mystical art of putting a 1000 piece jigsaw together on their kitchen table.
Another one is cards. You can’t go on holiday without a pack of cards and now it seems that people all over the world have picked up their decks and started playing once again.
So card company Cartamundi have decided to create ‘Cards for Humanity’ a special NHS Heroes deck of cards, available when you donate £5 to their CrowdFunder – with all proceeds going to NHS Charities Together.
The specially crafted NHS Heroes deck features doctors, nurses and surgeons in place of traditional Jacks, Kings and Queens as well as the rainbow colours which have become synonymous with the pandemic, adorning windows across the nation.
Daniel King, Cartamundi UK General Manager said: “I’m extremely proud to be part of the Cartamundi Group, we have been manufacturing PPE in the US and Covid-19 test kits in Ireland and I was desperate to do something closer to home. That’s why we’ve created these very special NHS Heroes playing cards, our way of saying thank you to all the NHS staff and care workers working tirelessly in this battle.
“Our goal is to raise to raise over £10,000 for NHS Charities Together and the amazing work they do. And we hope these cards will support them now during this crisis and into the future as we move forwards to brighter days. In addition to this we have created a brand new website (Stay & Play Cards); where there are thousands of different card games available to play, creating hours of fun for the family.
