Opening this Friday 17th December, The Wild Goose is an exciting new bar and restaurant venture from the team behind the successful Tre Ciccio restaurants in Altrincham and Ramsbottom.

Sitting in the site of former Alty institution, Francs, The Wild Goose will serve a ‘retro-esque’ menu with a modern twist, bringing back Anglo French classics, serving an A La Carte and a lunch time fixed price menu, encased in interior decor curated by Homebird.

Some of the stand-out dishes on the menu include; the French Onion soup with grilled gruyere cheese croutons, the classic Prawn Cocktail with marie rose sauce and lemon, Pan-fried Whole Lemon Sole served with curried steam mussels ‘mouclade’ and leeks, and the Roast Rump of Herdwick Lamb with rosemary roasted potatoes and peas a la Francoise.

The restaurant also offers an impressive selection of delicate desserts if you’ve still got room for more! Its classic Créme Brûlée, Spotted Dick and spiced pear and Chocolate Pavlova went down a treat, and are a fantastic end to any meal at The Wild Goose.

A traditional Sunday Lunch menu will also be available from mid-January 2022, which will see the restaurant offering a fixed price menu to include a roast sirloin of Hereford beef, salt chamber dry aged pork and roast Herdwick lamb.

The Wild Goose’s wine list has been selected by acclaimed Manchester legend and wine guru, George Bergier, with great wines being offered at appealing, affordable prices, together with classic cocktails, premium draught lager and a selection of spirits.

There are big plans for New Year’s Eve at The Wild Goose, too, with the restaurant hosting a get together this year to crown 2021 and celebrate its grand opening, offering a gourmet menu with Nyetimber English sparkling wine for £70.00 per head.
