The Manchester Sushi Festival will see some of the city’s best sushi parlours and chefs, with guests able to sample everything from makizushi to nigiri, temaki to “Super Sushi“.

There will also be a whole array of other Japanese delicacies on offer, including ramen and tempura, as well as plenty of plant-based options for vegans and veggies to enjoy, too.

As well as the vast selection of sushi vendors to choose from, there will also be workshops for guests to learn how to make their very own sushi from home – though it is worth noting that the workshops run every hour and are on a strictly first come first served basis.

There will also be Japanese inspired art classes, fashion pop ups, live music and DJs – as well as plenty of Japanese beer to hand, too.

There will also be an additional interactive sushi rolling workshop, hosted by our pals at Food Sorcery. This is more of an intimate hands on session with a professional chef at a super discounted rate, grab yourself an early ticket here.

We’re already spoiled for choice in Manchester for outstanding places to enjoy sushi. Some of our faves include UNAGI, sushi masters of Altrincham offering sublime nigiri, sashimi, hosomaki and uramaki, and OBVIOUSLY Tattu. Their Yellowtail and Kiwi Sashimi is up there as one of the best raw fish dishes in the entire city – a flavoursome and delicate addition to any order!

Kyotoya, a tiny 26-seater restaurant in the centre of Withington Village that’s been banging out truly sublime sushi for years is another must visit! Full of sushi, sashimi and other delightful Japanese treats, you have to stick this truly superb restaurant on your top places to try for the fish dish.

Tickets are £20 and the festival will run for four hours each day between the hours of 3pm and 7pm.
