We’re all too aware of the power of TikTok, which seems to be launching small businesses into viral sensations left, right and centre. West Midlands spot Binley Mega Chippy became an unexpected hit after a catchy tune trended and Manchester’s very-own Onda restaurant caught the eye of actor Florence Pugh with their tiramisu drawer earlier this year.

Perhaps one of the first to capitalise on the power of the social media powerhouse was Dolly’s Desserts. Started in 2019 by Charlie Smirk and her mum Janine Davies, the small, family-owned business in a Barnsley food hall gained huge popularity on the platform with videos of their dessert menu from gelato and milkshakes to crepes and cookie dough.

Now, the business has over 1.7 million followers and has expanded into a second store at The Glassworks in the Yorkshire market town as well as their own line of bake-at-home kits, dessert sauces and brownie boxes, all available to buy online.

Founder Charlie has now brought her TikTok famous brownies over the hills to all-pink Manchester institution Archie’s. Dolly’s has teamed up with the takeaway legends to create the Dolly’s caramel brownie shake, starring the Barnsley dessert parlour’s popular brownies, caramel sauce and ice cream, topped with whipped cream in the signature Archie’s cup.

In a TikTok post, Charlie said: “I have been so so so excited to share with you all this collaboration we have been working on with Archies… I am forever grateful for the opportunity to work with Archie’s and can not wait for you to try it.”

Order on Uber Eats or head down to one of the Archie’s sites in Manchester at The Trafford Centre, Piccadilly, Oxford Road or the Arndale to try the new Dolly’s shake.
