This October, art collective, The Order Of The Fool are bringing the magic and mysticism of ‘Street Tarot’ to the streets of Northern quarter.
Street Tarot is an open air, interactive art exhibition that invites the public to discover a series of artworks installed across 22 carefully selected locations in the heart of the city centre.
Featuring local bars and shops including; Fred Aldous, Cass Art, Pixel Bar, Ply, Northern Flower, North Tea power, Feel Good Club and Oklahoma, participants will walk through Northern Quarter as they embark on a journey of self-discovery through The Tarot.
Each card has a reading, which can be found when scanning the QR code attached to an individual piece of artwork. The first card that’s stumbled upon refers to the past, the second the present and the third the future.
22 Northern artists came together for the exhibition through their love of psychedelic art and occult symbolism. As the result of a chance finding of a discarded playing card by one of the founding members, they developed the idea for this unusual exhibition.
One of the artists taking part in the trail is Inktally, aka Natalie. Her art perfectly epitomises cosmic, psychedelic graphic design blended with bold, thought-provoking statements of tactful positivity. It’s the engaging colours, appealing geometry and warm, inviting aesthetic that sets her work light years apart from the rest.
In a private meeting each artist was asked to pick a card, which they then recreated in their own style. The result is a collection of art unlike no other rendition of Tarot cards.
A traditional exhibition, showcasing the full collection of artworks will also be hosted at The Vault inside Thomas Street’s Fierce Bar featuring work from all of the artists involved.
Street Tarot kicks off on the 8th October and runs until Saturday 22nd October.
