At first when I got the email through about this I just assumed someone had made a boo-boo and sent me something about London. But I was wrong. The brilliant Everyman Cinemas are due to open a venue down in Allied London’s Enterprise City development (where Granada Studios used to be to you and me!)

Located within the ABC Buildings, the cinema will feature three screening rooms and a bar and restaurant space.

Everyman Manchester will be a vibrant social space to indulge in a great evening out, with a bar and Spielburger Restaurant area serving burgers and handmade pizzas and as you’d expect – a broad programme of films and events.

Around 2012 I took a day off work and went to the Everyman cinema in Hampstead to watch Arietty and within about 30 minutes I was fast asleep – owing both to the sheer comfy-ness of the sofa seats and the two gin and tonics I snuffled when I sat down.

Everyman aim to create a ‘standout’ experience for their guests, with comfy sofa seating, great food and drink and a broad programme of films and live broadcasts.

The ABC buildings (formerly Astley Byrom House) are a key media asset for Enterprise City. The development will retain the buildings’ original features, showcasing its true Sixties architecture and design, with a refurbishment that celebrates the era of innovation and originality, with elements remaining as relevant today as they were over 50 years ago.

Everyman is due to open around Autumn 2019
