THIS WEEKEND: Get Sketching some Skin with Levenshulme Life Drawing

I'm not much of an artist but I've heard that nothing beats being able to capture an actual human.

Sitting down in a room with a naked stranger might not be everyone’s cup of tea but there’s plenty of people in Levenshulme who just can’t wait to get involved.

No, they’re not perverts. They’re not just wanting to see a bit of skin and gawp at someone’s inner thigh. No, they want a slice of the brilliant Levenshulme Life Drawing class which has been selling out since it started all the way back in 2019.

Hosted by local artist Lisa Marie Payne, the relaxed classes are the perfect opportunity to try your hand at a bit of drawing and sketching, as well as meeting some like-minded people over a love of art, food and the accompanying jazz soundtrack.

Pencils and paper are provided and you can even bring your own booze – which is perfect for anyone who needs a bit of Dutch courage whenever they’re around a naked body.

The next event will be held on Sunday 1st August at The Nest in Levenshulme Old Library. Get on down and give it a try – you’ll definitely have fun!
